What AI Pirates does

AI Pirates positions itself as an AI agency and AI Execution Studio based in Munich. The offering is organised in three pillars: strategy and advisory, systems and build, and finally content and scaling. On top of that come individual services such as AI strategy, AI consulting, implementation, agentic marketing, AI creative and training. Mid-market and enterprise are explicitly addressed, with GDPR-compliant prototypes, on-prem and offline options, and the note that work happens remotely or on site in Munich.

The stated ambition is execution rather than pure advice: build, automate, scale — with training your own team as part of the engagement.

What EinfachAI is

EinfachAI is a one-person operation, not an agency. I am a software developer with 15 years of experience in complex IT architectures and around ten years in e-commerce, eight of them with Shopware. I have worked with agentic AI since 2023, deliberately with clearly defined workflows rather than all-powerful agents.

Two areas dominate. First, connecting isolated legacy systems or supplier data sources via autonomous browser and desktop agents where vendor interfaces are missing, locked, or uneconomical. Second, extracting invoice and product data from unstructured PDFs straight into your system. Alongside that, the Digital Product Passport as a topic that combines system understanding with Shopware integration.

When AI Pirates is the better choice

• You need several disciplines at once. Strategy, technical implementation and content production in one engagement — an agency with specialists per field is the better structure for that.
• Training is part of the brief. If your team should be enabled to develop AI independently, an agency brings its own formats for that.
• You want on-site meetings. A provider based in Germany can offer in-person sessions that remote work cannot replicate.
• The brief is broad and rather strategic. If the goal is first a solid roadmap, a consulting team is the right entry point.

When EinfachAI is the better choice

• The problem sits deep in the system, not in the strategy. Locked legacy systems, missing interfaces, grown ERP, PIM and inventory landscapes — here what counts is someone who understands the infrastructure itself.
• You do not want agency overhead. No account management between you and the implementation; the person who analyses also writes the code.
• Your core is e-commerce with Shopware. Eight years of Shopware practice is not a side topic but the daily craft.
• The brief is clearly scoped. For a clearly defined stretch — a connection, an extraction, an integration — a single senior developer is often faster than a team with several handover points.

What this means for the DACH mid-market

For a mid-sized company without its own development department, the question is rarely "agency or freelancer" but: how much structure do I need on top of the purely technical implementation? If brand presence, content and team qualification are also on the list, an agency model makes sense. If the bottleneck is the connection inside your own system, a one-person operation is the more direct solution.
